About Me
Hi! I’m Cheryl, owner of BASIC with Cheryl! Just a little about me…I grew up in a small town in South Carolina and attended Clemson University, graduating with a degree in Accounting & Finance. I married right out of college to my husband, Sam. I started my accounting career at KPMG and worked there for a total of 12 years. In 2008, I decided to take a break from the corporate world and opened a denim boutique! It was a dream that became a reality. It was a true labor of love and a priceless experience. Eventually, I closed the store, had two kids, and life has never been the same (which is an understatement!)!
BASIC with Cheryl originally started as a styling business helping ladies fall in love with their clothes with a little tweaking, editing and accessorizing. I was simply their “new friend” helping them fall in love with their clothes, create their own personal style and give inspiration and confidence to do it themselves!
With any new business, things unexpectedly can take a different direction. While I loved styling and editing, I actually LOVED creating social media posts! So I set a goal to learn more about social media and how to tap into my creative side outside of fashion. This business venture combines my business background with my fashion background and allows me to style in a different way!

Meet the Family
Sam and I have been happily married for 21 years. We have two kids, Stone and Zoleigh, and a goldendoodle, Rosie. Stone is our 11-year-old super athletic kid who has a deep passion for soccer and cool haircuts. When he is not playing soccer, you can find him participating in some other outdoor activity. His sports schedule keeps us extremely busy, especially on the weekend! Zoleigh is our 9-year-old girly girl who is obsessed with gymnastics, aerial, tumbling, and makeup. She is sweet and sassy! And then there is Rosie, our two-year-old goldendoodle who is spoiled and loved!
